*** STOP PRESS *** NEW PERFORMERS NOW CONFIRMED :
To celebrate the De La Warr Pavilion’s current solo exhibition of work by Australian artist Shaun Gladwell, Dv8 Sussex and somewhereto_ will be taking over the venue in a one-off multi-genre collaborative arts event. And the best part? It’s all completely free.
On Saturday 18th May, the historic venue will open its doors (and its roof) to anyone aged 14 to 19 keen to get expert guidance in creative industries. Inspired by Gladwell’s biggest UK exhibition to date, the day will consist primarily of a series of free, daytime workshops led by leading creative industry professionals. Participants can get tips and hands-on training in how to write, record, edit and mix music, or learn the basics in how to shoot and edit films. There will also be a free breakdancing/street dance workshop.
The evening will see the roof of this historic building play host to DJs and bands, with skaters invited to use the rooftop BMX/skate ramp, and anyone who has participated in the daytime workshops to showcase their creations.
