Intermediate Fashion student Isaac Raymond may well have only joined our Fashion ranks a few months ago, but he was already designing when he was twelve years old, and learnt to sew at the age of five! Over the last nine months, Isaac has been making a documentary with the BBC on his work as a designer, and preparing for his toughest catwalk challenge yet; a slot on the runway at Brighton Fashion Week.

This is what Isaac had to say when we asked what his catwalk was all about…

My Brighton Fashion Week Catwalk

On Friday 16th October I showed my new collection ‘The Revolution of Bravery’ on the Catwalk at Brighton Fashion Week!

The Revolution Of Bravery takes the audience on a physical and mental journey through dealing with and overcoming mental health problems. The garments are designed and created to symbolise individual mental illnesses through how I envisage them as a physical being.

The collection starts with mental torment then it progresses into transformation as the garments/models begin to deal with their mental illnesses and become empowered to be strong. This leads to them into a state of tranquillity!

While I designed this collection I researched into a wide variety of mental illnesses so that I can show the illnesses in the right way. The mental illnesses and disorders  I symbolised though the garments included schizophrenia, anorexia & hyper sexual disorder.

I always love doing Catwalk shows as I can show my creative vision to the public. I find doing Catwalks empowering and I always come away full of joy!
