Media Students help out The School Bus Project

On Wednesday 4th November we welcomed Kate and Stephanie from The School Bus Project to Dv8’s Brighton centre. Together with Children of Calais & LASER network of Coop schools The School Bus Project are converting buses into mobile schools that will provide vital education & support for the refugees trapped in Calais and across Europe and they needed our help to make them a video for their crowd funding campaign. They have already acquired a bus on ebay and now need to raise the funds to kit it out into a mobile classroom and shelter for the vulnerable.

Our amazing tutor Adam had been approached by the project in his professional capacity as a producer and editor, and he wasted no time in getting his Media students involved. On the evening Dani, Jack and Keith volunteered their skills as lighting, camera and sound to create the film with Adam’s expert supervision. Needless to say Kate and Stephanie were suitably impressed.

You can find out more on the project by visiting their website and watch this space for the finished film! Also in the pipeline is an album created by our music students to be sold on Bandcamp and raise money for the cause.
