We are writing to let you know that we are going to be starting the following Brighton courses a little later than was originally planned.

  • Games Level 2
  • Games Level 3 Year 1
  • Games Level 3 Year 2
  • Media Level 3 Year 1

This is because despite all our efforts over the last few months, the new classroom spaces we are using for Games & Media will very likely not be fully operational in time for the start of term.Unfortunately, there have been some issues with supply chains for building materials and new IT equipment.

We have not made this decision lightly and it is entirely in the best interests of our learners and the best possible start to the new year we can provide.
English and Maths will commence from the week of September 12th.
  • Level 2 – If you have achieved 4 or above or a functional skill Level 2 in one but not the other you will have a full day of the one you are yet to achieve.
  • Level 3 – If you have not achieved 4 or above or a functional skill Level 2 in either or both subjects you will have to attend these sessions.

Once you have access to the timetable please dentify where you have English and/or maths if applicable – you will be in college on these days. This is to ensure you do not miss very important time on these subjects, which run to more set time frame (exams/tests) than the vocational course.
A timetable will be available to view from Monday 5th September on our website, we will send the link out on this date. A personalised timetable will be handed to you on your first day or emailed to you.

We sincerely apologise for the disruption to your planning and expectations, but we can assure you that the new teaching spaces and equipment will be worth the wait. The new space is very close (1 minute walk) to our main centre in Queens Square and will be an excellent environment for learning and creativity. We want to assure you that this delay will cause no further knock-on issues to your studies. Your course end date will be adjusted accordingly and your time available to complete your qualification will not be affected.
We will schedule some in person contact time for you and your tutor during the two weeks ahead of starting. We will also set some getting to know you/ice breaker tasks online for you and your new classmates and we will also cover some of the induction process remotely.More details of this will follow shortly.
To give you a chance to ask questions and have some direct contact with us, we would like to invite you to a video call on Monday 5th at 3pm (meeting link in email).
In the meantime, please email Kieran Mahon with any queries – k.mahon@londonlc.org.uk
