The Takeover

On Saturday 18 May, Dv8 Sussex students pulled off an epic event at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. Filled to the brim with excitement, music, dance and film workshops, plus skating, the day kicked off at noon where young people from all over Sussex got the chance to work with our talented tutors on mini projects.

In the evening the party started on the roof of the building. Tuggy Fresh, Marie White, Fletch, Tommy Culbert, Harry Barrow, Nadine Pemberton, Jade Stokes, Intruda and Kidzie gave the crowd a show to remember, and were supported by friends, family and fans alike. At half time the audience was taken to a dark room to watch an amazing dance piece courtesy of Urban Breakout, before returning to the roof for even more music, featuring DJ sessions by up-and-coming artist, DJ and producer, Don’t Look, with our performers MC’ing throughout.

Our tutors on the day were Esther Springett, Roland Gurney, Billy Barrington and Jesse MacFarlane.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so awesome and a special thank you to our media sponsors SQ Magazine.
