Week Beginning Monday December 13th

Following careful consideration, we have decided to make the last week of term, beginning Monday December 13th a Directed Study Week.

This means that students will be set and supported to complete specific projects, which they can choose to do either in College or work from home.

College will remain open as normal and any students who still wish or need to attend are very welcome. Similarly, any students that would prefer to work from home for this week are more than welcome to adopt this approach.

We have made this decision for two main reasons:

  1. This is the first full term following two highly disrupted academic years and we are aware that many students have found it challenging returning to full-time onsite studies. This “soft finish” to the term mirrors our “soft start” to the term.
  2. With the emergence of the new covid strain and general anxiety increasing, this approach will hopefully help to ensure that students (and staff) have a better chance of having a “covid free” festive period.

Teachers and learning support staff will be providing more course-specific details next week, including making sure that everyone has access to appropriate IT, as needed.

If you have any questions or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to contact the college.
