Introducing our ‘Alumni Profiles’, a series where we will feature an alumni member a month.

For December 2021, we caught up with Oliver Redman who left us back in 2018.

1. What did you study at Dv8?

2. What was your experience of studying at Dv8? What is your favourite memory?
Loved it, the teachers I had were incredibly lovely and well-versed in their fields.

3. What are you currently up to? Studying at university/ working full time?
During and since leaving Dv8 I became a full-time Live Sound and Lighting Engineer. I continued this until covid hit where I retrained to be a Front-end Developer/Software Engineer. I now do this full-time instead, with some podcast audio production on the side.

4. How did your chosen subject at Dv8 help you progress onto what you are doing now?
During my time on the Music Production & Performance course, we rented out one of the venue spaces at Komedia Brighton. This is where I met the head tech of the venue and managed to grab myself some work experience and later on, a job at the venue which massively jump-started my career in the field.
