We have some fantastic musical talent in the Dv8 building! Our latest creativity comes from Aiden Mant otherwise known as badmanriddum. Aiden is a student on our Level 1 Music Production course. As well as creating his music here in college, he’s continued to produce more at home in his spare time. He’s also co-produced with a rapper/producer called Naye. Aiden typically creates grime, hip-hop and urban tracks with some dub influence but is more than willing to step out of his comfort zone in order to learn something new and push his learning capabilities. He’s also been promoting himself well on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. By tweeting to followers and sharing on Facebook, not only is he looking to expand his audience but he’s looking for feedback whether it’s positive or constructive criticism. Aiden says “all feedback is good”.

Aiden had this to say about his time here so far and as a young artist:

“Dv8 has helped me a lot to make my beats. I’ve learnt loads of new skills and definitely furthered my knowledge in music production and the music industry. I must also give credit to three people in particular. They’re the people who I very first started doing music with. They have helped me so much in not just music but my life in general. They told me to apply for Dv8 and to chase my dreams!! I look up to Rick Frost, Jaye Parson, and Naye a lot! My tutor Joe is great! He has also helped me so much and I feel like we have a really good connection when we work together. He’s always willing to help me with everything! I’ve applied to do Level 2 Music Production next year here and really hope Joe teaches me again”.
