We’ve featured Live Events, Media and Fashion tutors, so now it’s time to introduce Joe Newman, one of our many talented Music Production experts!

Joe learnt guitar and bass at a young age and has been making a living from music since the age of 17. This has taken him on many adventures playing in various bands, most recently including touring with Alice Russell’s to promote her latest album. Although Joe’s main instrument is guitar, he is somewhat of a multi-instrumentalist and has also recorded vocals for various producers as well as working on his own material.

Our tutor’s knowledge of the latest in music technology developed when he worked with Rewired Sound in Brighton as a sound technician/engineer. However Joe’s desire to get involved in the more creative side led to producing and performing music for theatre and production companies creating all manner of audio-visual extravaganzas. Not content with this, Joe wanted to take the party outdoors and also has a wide experience in working on site and in production teams for large festival events including Secret Garden Party.

More recently Joe has released his own material under the alias J-Felix for Pragmatic Theory, Tokyo Dawn Records and has just signed exclusively to Tru Thoughts recordings in Brighton, and is currently working on a full-length LP for release early next year.
