Fashion trip to Irregular Choice

Irregular Choice visits Dv8 Sussex Fashion Students

At the heart of what we do is helping our students get real work experience and give them a true insight into what it’s like to work in the creative industries. We believe that by the time you finish college you should have experience meeting and working in a professional creative environment so you can go on to thrive with experience under your belt from an early age!

We recently had the fabulous and unique luxury shoe brand Irregular Choice pay a visit to our Brighton campus to speak with our Fashion students about their business and to set them up with their very own unique brief. Our budding fashion students will be researching and concepting their own luxury shoes that Irregular Choice will feedback on. As if getting feedback from the shoe giants wasn’t inspiring enough, there will be a prize awarded to the winning design. We can’t wait to see what our fashion students come up with!

What better way to spark inspiration in our students with design ideas than to take a trip up to our capital of culture to visit the Irregular Choice flagship store in London, and scout out potential materials to use in the lavish fabric shops.

The store was a feast for the eyes with beautiful colours everywhere and shoes displaying pineapple prints, extravagant shapes and decorative bows. It was sequins and glitter galore with the highest of heels and the cutest of flats, and a mini-eco paradise display in the heel of a pair of shoes couldn’t escape our eyes! If our students hadn’t any design ideas before, it’s safe to say that they now know the possibilities are infinite – they are free to express their creativity any way they want to on this fantastic brief.

If you want to work on real fashion industry briefs and meet the creatives that live and breathe it everyday, sign up to our Fashion & Design course for 16-18s starting in September!
