ESPORTS COURSE OVERVIEW
Esports (electronic sports) is competitive video gaming, which is human vs. human, either as individuals or in teams. This course will give you all of the skills and knowledge to make it in Esports and respective creative industries.
Developed in conjunction with the British Esports Association, this course will develop your skillset in a wide range of areas including marketing, events management, business development, media and more.
WHAT WILL I DO ON THE ESPORTS COURSE?
- Investigating the different types of Esports games
- Develop and create your own brand and merchandise, as well as establishing your very own esports organisation
- Plan your own live-stream event
- Develop skills, strategies and analysis of Esports
- Taking a close look at enterprise and entrepreneurship in the Esports industry
- Understanding the importance of health, wellbeing and fitness for Esports players
HOW LEVEL 2 AT DV8 WORKS
Our primary intentions for young people on Level 2 studies are:

AT LEVEL 2 I WILL:
LEVEL 2 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A previous Level 1 qualification and/or GCSE Grades 2-3 - subject to interview
HOW LEVEL 3 AT DV8 WORKS
Our primary intentions for young people on Level 3 studies are:
a) Developing meaningful vocational skills based on early stage career progressions goals b) Year 1 is for the completion of a Subsidiary Diploma with a review to going on to a 2nd year of a full Extended Diploma c) To secure between 48 & 144 UCAS tariff points as part of Higher Education progression options
AT LEVEL 3 I WILL:
- Achieve Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Esports (1st year)
- Achieve Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Esports (2nd year)
- Gain an understanding of live-streamed broadcasting and events management
- Develop coaching and teaching skills and also skills in psychology and nutrition
- Progress onto employment across a range of roles within Esports or further study at Higher Education
