Dv8 careers
day 2019

What is dv8 careers day?

The Dv8 Careers Day is in place to give our students the opportunity to explore what options and pathways are out there for their next steps in work or education.

You’ll experience a whole day full of industry guest speakers, careers and progression advice, plus skills workshops in games, music, media, art and fashion!

Dv8 Careers Day will be held on….

Brighton: Monday 11th November, 10.15am – 4.45pm

Bexhill: Thursday 12th December, 10.15am – 4.45pm

Your normal timetable is collapsed for the day so that you are free to attend the talks that you want to. Even if it’s not your usual day at Dv8, all students are highly encouraged to attend.

Some talks are on more than once and others will only be on for one session, so plan your day carefully!

Take a look at the timetable of guest speakers at the Bexhill campus here.

WHAT can i expect at brighton careers day?

We have an amazing day planned for you lucky students at Bexhill with some incredible creative speakers and professionals for you to speak with! They’re all busily preparing for sessions aimed at guiding, inspiring and informing you about the next stages of your career after Dv8.

Some of our speakers also have work placement opportunities available which could lead to paid work, the start of your career!

Okay, so we’ve pulled out the big guns and have David Caffrey, movie and Peaky Blinders Director coming in to share his story with you!

Our star ex-student Marie White will be speaking to us about her journey and winning Glastonbury’s emerging talent for 2020!

Our creative careers ambassadors include the likes of the amazing tech savvy ZOONOU. You’ll be able to do some live testing and they have opportunities for work experience.

We are also honoured to have Madeleine De Angelis coming in to speak to us about her wealth of experience running the design studio for Touker Suleyman (Dragons Den fashion tycoon!) for 18 years.

Locate East Sussex are joining us to speak about ‘The power of change’ . They will talk about local funding available for budding entrepreneurs.

Our friendly creative powerhouse neighbours De La War Pavilion will not only be talking about the venue itself and the career roles that they have, but more importantly their search for young creative talent (that’s you btw!) to be a part of the epic institution.

And finally The My Trust will be running talks throughout the day on the local jobs market and on creative / digital career advice. They strive to ‘Prepare Young People for their Future’.
