Paid Internship Programme

The Paid Internship Programme at Dv8 Sussex in Brighton and Bexhill is the perfect course for anyone looking to get some hands on experience with exciting employers alongside expert advice and support.

Course Details:
Ages : 16-18 (can have turned 19 after 31st August 2016)
Duration : 3 – 4 days per week, start date w/c 2nd January
Location : Brighton & Bexhill
Entry Requirements: 5 GCSEs, Level 2 qualification, or demonstrable skills at interview
As this is a work-based study programme you must be ready to commit to working with an employer and not currently in full-time employment or education
Additional Information : After initial induction period at Dv8 students will be placed with an employer for a minimum of 3 days by the end of January whilst still attending Dv8 one day a week.
Wage : £10 per day with employer plus bursary support available for extra costs such as travel

Through an initial induction period at Dv8 we will help you to refine your interests and abilities before matching you with the ideal employer. We will support you in the workplace with regular visits whilst weekly sessions at Dv8 are designed to help you gain an employability qualification and access a range of inspiring speakers, site visits, showcases and opportunities. Whether you’re looking for a practical alternative to A-levels, or want to build upon your work skills with an employer, our Paid Internship Programme can benefit you.

Projects include:

• A range of employability skills including CV writing, interview techniques, presentation and IT skills
• A supported work placement with an employer matched to your interests and skills
• A range of industry guests, site visits and skill sessions
• Visits to a variety of local businesses and employers

Progression routes:

The Paid Internship Programme is the perfect platform to progress to an Apprenticeship or to a Level 3 vocational course
Progress to employment in a variety of roles

  • Complete a 6 month work placement with a relevant employer
  • Achieve an NCFE Employability Award
  • Achieve Maths/English GCSE or Functional Skills (if not previously attained)
  • Earn £10 for each day with an employer
