Dv8 Sussex Key Stage 4 Alternative Provision
From October 2016 Dv8 will be offering a part-time Key Stage 4 Alternative Provision programme based at our campus in central Brighton and Bexhill.
Our target client group are pupils who have struggled to engage with and achieve in mainstream education, which could be for a variety of reasons including environment, personal circumstances or barriers to learning that could not be overcome in a larger establishment.
The aim of the programme will be to enable students to engage in positive provision in a non-mainstream setting, complementing their core curriculum at school and enabling them to achieve a main qualification and build their confidence and attitude throughout the year.
Each class will be staffed by two Dv8 staff members. Our tutors are experienced in working with the 14-16 client group and hold, or are working towards a full teaching qualification at Level 4 or 5.
Dv8 tutors are often also active practitioners within the creative industries, ensuring up to date knowledge of practices and routes into the sector, enabling effective careers information, advice and guidance for those wishing to progress into creative careers, further learning, traineeships or apprenticeships.
We focus on creative, media and digital industries, with an emphasis on:
- Creative Skills development
- Personal, social and careers development;
- Business and Enterprise
- Progression into further learning, traineeships or apprenticeships
The creative subject matter is the hook through which the learners are engaged. It is also the medium through which personal, social, numeracy and literacy skills are developed.
